From the 'Inspired Spirals' Collection, 2008
This series of paintings was inspired by a challenge to limit my palette to the four-colour range used by a friend of mine: yellow ochre, black, white and burnt sienna. I tried using them unmixed, and it really wasn’t working for me – so I mixed them to a colour-range that I found more appealing to work with, and started having fun… (I know, the embellishments are 'cheating' – but I couldn’t help myself ;-))
The detail work in this painting took many hours to complete. Any faces or creatures you may see therein are entirely self-manifesting!
Acrylics, metallic fabric paint, found objects (shells and stones from Devon to Latin America...!) on 9" x 12" ready-to-hang box canvas. Painting extends around the sides of the canvas, so no need to frame. Signed and dated bottom right. Ships with a signed and dated certificate of authenticity.
