'The Wonder of It All', completed December 11th, 2019
This little sweetheart measures a rather random 20.75cm x 9.1cm and may, therefore, require a handmade frame. It started out life as a piece to tear up and collage with, but at some point, I realised that was definitely NOT happening! Because I was intending to tear-and-paste, it's on a lighter weight paper than I would ordinarily use, which has led to some buckling and rippling. I know that some collectors would see this as an 'issue', but I absolutely love it - it makes the piece even more unique and unrepeatable, to my mind. I guess I may press it a little bit before releasing it into the wild, but I think this brush baby is 'perfectly imperfect'. What do you think - are ripples and buckling a 'problem', or do they add to the character of original artwork for you?
